Sandy Beaches
Syria is located on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean, with about 190km coastline. The beach is a perfect place for quiet and relaxing time to swim.
Majestic Mountains
Syria is home to several mountain ranges, including the famous Mount Hermon, which rises 2814m. The villages there are known for their delicious fruit trees.
Expansive Deserts
Amidst the desert plains, hidden oases dot the landscape, offering pockets of lush greenery, natural springs; that made them important centers on the trade route.
Fertile Valleys
The valleys such as the Orontes Valley and the Barada Valley, are part of the Fertile Crescent that has been cultivated for centuries, providing a stark contrast to the arid desert regions.
Unfortunately, the conflict in Syria has overshadowed its positive aspects,
but it is important to know Syria still has much to offer and many locations to visit.
DAMASCUS
A timeless city throbbing with life and vibrancy through the atmospheric souqs and labyrinthine alleyways, old houses and hidden restaurants.
KRAK DES CHEVALIERS
The most magnificent and best-preserved Crusader castle in the world, a testament of durability and strength.
MALOULA
Tucked into the mountains, a village where Aramaic, the language of Christ is still spoken, a stark difference to the bustling city this village is serene and contemplative.
MAR MOSA
In a remote area, 350 steps lead the way to this beautiful spot at the mouth of the gorge, dominating the steppe. The chapel boasts remarkable frescos spanning centuries of multiple biblical events.
APAMEA
Apamea, is on a natural elevation overlooking the Ghab valley, is Syria’s largest classical site with more than 400 columns.
BOSRA
Take a seat at the spectacular intact Roman theatre, dramatically forged out of black basalt volcanic stone, cocooned by an Arab Fortress.
PALMYRA
The world’s most evocative classical site sits on the edge of a massive oasis. It provides a glimpse into the diverse cultures that have flourished in Syria over the centuries.
SALADIN CASTLE
Dramatically built on the summit of a solid rock, with deep ravines all around, is an enormous, medieval, crusader castle in the forest of northwest Syria.
ALEPPO
What used to be a commercial hub, sprawled around the impressive, unconquerable citadel in its center. The famous ancient souq was one of the first places to begin reconstruction work, with the great mosque and several churches.
TARTOUS
Popular for its beaches and sole inhabited Syrian island, Arwad, the finest Crusader cathedral, and the Phoenician city Amrit.
HOMS
Formerly Emessa, was a station on the Silk Road. An important early Christian center with the oldest frescos in the country.
HAMA
The attractive river town is famous for its extraordinary and enormous waterwheels. Hama is known for its fertile agriculture land, dairy and sweets.
